BIOGRAPHY

21 year old Alyssa Christian from the district of Bodden Town hopes to raise awareness to the pain and long term effects of domestic violence to both women and children through her platform, The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre. She spends time at the Crisis Centre interacting with children and playing and participating in Art activities. She is also working on a book of art and play therapy activities for children of all ages which will educate them on safety, how to say no, what to do in emergency situations, and to build self esteem.

A recent graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, she is also an artist. She beleives Art is a very successful therapy technique and her dream is to use her talents to help children affected by domestic violence and other traumatic experiences. Her goals for the future include completing a Master's Degree in Art Therapy in the hopes of acheiving this dream.
