BIOGRAPHY

24 Year old Samantha Widmer hopes the Miss Cayman Islands pageant will bring her closer to her goal of becoming a role model for Caymanians to believe they can accomplish anything they put their mind to. This Caymanian native enjoys playing squash, diving and golf, and has won the prestgious title of Top Female Golfer in the Caribbean. She has represented the Cayman Islands in over twenty-five countries around the world in the sport of golf. Also, Miss Widmer has acheived a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Elon University and is currently pursuing the CPA certification. Her most precious memory to date was when she won the title of Miss Earth Cayman Islands 2010 and attended the international competition in Vietnam last November.

Samantha has chosen the Cayman HospiceCare as her charity because of a personal loss. This non-profit organization works with individuals to bridge the gap between life and death through communal support and specialized care from trained nurses and caretakers. Also, Hospice is run solely on fundraising and donations and provides the only end of life care that is free of charge to patients and their families.

Through her work with the Cayman HospiceCare, she has come to realize the importance of life and giving back to those who have contributed so much to their communites. Dedicating time each week to raising awareness and the need for individuals and businesses to continue to support this worthy cause is of great importance to her. Samantha hopes to be the most remembered Miss Cayman Islands through her work in the community if she is awarded the title of Miss Cayman Islands.
